BridgeYO is a resource navigation and connection platform — not a healthcare or clinical provider.

We Connect: BridgeYO helps young people across Ontario find and navigate local resources, including mental health support, housing, food security, and community services.

We Do Not Diagnose: BridgeYO does not provide medical advice, psychiatric evaluations, clinical therapy, or formal medical diagnoses. Using BridgeYO does not create a doctor-patient or therapist-client relationship.

We practice data minimization, which means we only collect the minimum amount of information necessary to help you find local resources.

A. Information You Choose to Provide

Resource Searches: You do not need to create an account or provide your legal name to browse resources on BridgeYO.

Location Input: If you search for services near you, we may ask for your city, neighborhood, or postal code to filter local results.

Interactive Features & Support Chat: If you use interactive search assistants or chat tools to find help, we collect the text or details you choose to share to accurately match you with the right services.

B. Technical & Usage Data

Analytics: We collect basic, non-identifying technical data (such as device type, operating system, and basic app usage statistics) to ensure the platform functions reliably across Ontario.

Cookies & Local Storage: We use minimal local browser storage solely to remember essential preferences (like your dark/light theme setting).

We use the information we collect to:

Match you with relevant community, health, housing, and social services across Ontario.

Improve platform navigation, search accuracy, and user experience.

Maintain the technical security and performance of our services.

How we share your information

We share information only as described here, and only to operate and improve BridgeYO for Ontario youth:

Employers and housing listers: when you apply to a job or message a listing, we share the details you submitted (your name, email, resume, and message) with that employer or lister so they can respond.

Service providers: we use trusted providers for hosting, email delivery, analytics, and payments. They process data on our behalf and under contract.

Community partners: we may share de-identified or aggregate information with partner organizations to improve services for youth.

Legal and safety: we may disclose information when required by law or court order, or to protect someone from serious harm, as described below.

De-identified and aggregate data: we may use, publish, or license data that has been de-identified or aggregated so it can no longer reasonably identify you, including to help sustain BridgeYO through partnerships or data arrangements. We do not sell your directly-identifying personal information to advertisers.

Your privacy and trust are our top priorities. What you share on BridgeYO remains confidential, subject only to the following legal exceptions required under Ontario and Canadian law:

1. Imminent Harm: If there is a clear and immediate risk of serious physical harm or life-threatening danger to you or someone else.

2. Child Protection: If information indicates that a child under the age of 16 is in need of protection under the Child, Youth and Family Services Act (Ontario).

3. Legal Process: If we are served with a valid court order, warrant, or legal requirement under federal or provincial law.

Quick Exit: BridgeYO includes a "Quick Exit" button designed to allow you to leave the screen immediately and redirect your browser if you need privacy or safety while browsing sensitive resources.

Data Deletion Requests: You have the right to request the deletion of any personal information or interaction history associated with you. Contact us at privacy@bridgeyo.ca to make a request.

BridgeYO provides links and directions to third-party community organizations, youth centers, and support agencies. Once you leave the BridgeYO platform or contact an outside service, their privacy policies and terms of service apply. We encourage you to review the privacy practices of any external provider you contact.
